If you’ve never heard of the “Death Road” you’ve never visited Caranavi in the Yungas region of Bolivia, where more than 80 percent of the country’s green coffee is produced. Coffee travels from the coop of origin down what is rightly dubbed, One of the World’s Most Dangerous Roads. The Yungas region is a stretch of forest along the eastern slope of the Andes Mountains. It is formed by valleys, mountain trails and streams and its extremely rugged and varied terrain contributes to the ecological diversity and richness which you’ll experience through drinking this coffee. Fair Trade and Organic coffees from Bolivia are recognized for their excellent quality. FECAFEB, the coop that produces our coffee, was founded to defend the rights and needs of small-scale farmers.
