Desert Sun has built a reputation for creating a full-bodied, “sweet” cup of coffee. Coffee beans do indeed contain a great many sugars. Roasting the beans transforms how the coffee will taste. Therein lays the balance of engineering, using good roasting equipment for consistency, and art, using human creativity and intuition in coffee roasting.

Few know that during the roasting process, a single bean will undergo over 900 chemical reactions and that a few seconds difference during roast can dramatically change its flavor.

Coffee is roasted to varying levels depending on consumer preference and style of coffee. Roast levels are characteristically classified as light, medium, dark (French, Italian and Espresso roasts.)
